For a traditional lender, the hardest part of borrowing is often not the application itself but the paperwork that comes with it. Many lenders ask for identity proof, address proof, age proof, salary slips, bank statements, photographs, and several alternatives for each. These lists are usually built for applications where documents are collected and checked by hand.
A fully digital loan process works differently. Rather than asking you to upload several documents for the same piece of information, the lender can verify key details digitally, through your PAN and Aadhaar.
For a personal loan on Zype, you generally need just two documents: your PAN and your Aadhaar. There are no physical paperwork, or branch visits required. Your PAN helps verify your identity and credit profile. Your Aadhaar is used for KYC verification.
For a personal loan on Zype, you need two documents:
Zype verifies these details digitally, so you do not need to visit a branch. The live selfie adds one more check: it confirms that you are the same person named on the documents.
If you have applied for a loan at a bank before, you will recognize the list of documents below. Bank documentation for a personal loan usually spans several categories, and most banks ask for at least one item from each. Here is what a typical documents list looks like:
| Category | Documents required |
|---|---|
| Identity proof | PAN card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar |
| Address proof | Aadhaar, Passport, utility bill, ration card, rent agreement |
| Age proof | Passport, Aadhaar, birth certificate, Voter ID |
| Income proof | Latest salary slips (usually 3 months), bank statements (3-6 months), Form 16 |
| Photographs | Passport-size photographs |
A common question borrowers ask is how Zype checks income without a salary slip. When you apply, Zype reviews your bank statements instead. Zype checks if your salary is consistently credited to the same bank account each month.
This also removes a real friction point, because many people cannot get a salary slip from their HR quickly, or at all. That is why Zype does not ask for a salary slip, regardless of the loan amount. For higher amounts, though, additional bank statements may still be requested.
Placed side by side, the difference in what you need to gather before applying is stark:
| What you need | Typical bank | Zype |
|---|---|---|
| Identity proof | One of several documents | PAN card |
| Address proof | A separate document | Covered by Aadhaar |
| Age proof | A separate document | Covered by PAN and Aadhaar |
| Income proof | Salary slips + bank statements | Bank statements (only for higher loan amount) |
| Photographs | Passport-size photos | A live selfie in the app |
| Physical submission | Often required | None. Fully digital process |
| Documents required | Five or more | Two, verified digitally |
Document verification is one part of the process, but eligibility is what decides whether the loan is approved. On Zype, you need to be a salaried individual aged between 18 and 58, earning a monthly salary of at least ₹15,000 credited to a bank account, with an Aadhaar linked to your mobile number for KYC verification. Zype lends only to salaried borrowers.
Self-employed people, business owners, and freelancers are not eligible, regardless of income, so the documents list above applies specifically to salaried applicants.
The documents are verified digitally, and the entire application process takes about 10 minutes:
Using your PAN and Aadhaar details.
Complete KYC verification using your mobile linked Aadhaar along with a live selfie.
You are approved for a loan limit, based on your employment stability and credit profile.
Check the KFS to find out the exact interest rate, EMI, processing fee, and total repayment cost of your loan.
The entire process happens inside the app. Once you e-sign the loan agreement, the money is credited to your bank account.
The two-document requirement covers the large majority of applications. Most applicants only require PAN and Aadhaar only. However, there are a few honest exceptions worth knowing:
For a personal loan on Zype, only your PAN and Aadhaar are required. Your PAN is used for your credit profile and your Aadhaar is used for KYC Verification.
Often, yes. It depends on the lender that you are borrowing from. On Zype, for example, a salary slip is not required. Income is confirmed from your bank statements.
No, you do not need to submit a separate address proof. Zype verifies your address through the details linked to your Aadhaar during the KYC verification process. Make sure your Aadhaar details are up to date, and that your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar.
Generally, yes. A self-employed person cannot show a salary slip or an employer's salary credit, so most lenders ask for other proof of income instead, such as income tax returns, business registration documents, and a longer bank statement history. This document set is usually different from what a salaried applicant needs to provide.
The interest rate charged on Zype for a personal loan ranges from 18% to 34% per year and is charged on a reducing balance basis. The rate of interest applicable for your loan is based on your credit profile and decided by the RBI-registered NBFC disbursing the loan. A processing fee of 2%-6% of the loan amount is applicable, excluding GST. The processing fee applicable is also dependent on your profile. Zype does not charge any foreclosure or prepayment fees on loan. All applicable charges, along with your EMI and total repayment, are disclosed in the Key Fact Statement, which can be reviewed before the loan is disbursed.
Loans are disbursed via RBI-registered NBFCs. Zype is operated by Easy Platform Services Private Limited.
